Structured Co-parent Conflict Resolution
Structured Co-parent Conflict Resolution Program (SCCR)
10-Session Program for High-Conflict Separation
When communication breaks down after separation, conflict can quickly become the centre of your child’s world.
Structured Co-Parent Conflict Reduction (SCCR) is a time-limited, skills-based intervention designed to reduce conflict behaviours, improve communication structure, and protect children from exposure to adult tension.
This is not open-ended therapy.
This is structured, targeted, and focused on change.
Section 1: Who This is For
SCCR is appropriate for separated or divorced parents who:
Experience repeated conflict over communication
Feel “stuck” in escalation cycles
Want structured tools rather than emotional processing
Are concerned about the impact of conflict on their child
Have been advised by counsel to reduce hostility
Want measurable improvement within a defined timeframe
This program is not designed for custody evaluations, forensic opinions, or parenting capacity assessments
Section 2: What Makes SCCR Different?
Unlike traditional therapy, SCCR:
Is capped at 10 sessions
Follows a structured, evidence-informed framework
Focuses on behavior change, not blame
Installs communication containment systems
Reduces triangulation of children
Can be delivered jointly or in a parallel format
The goal is not agreement.
The goal is containment.
Section 3: What We Work On
Over 10 structured sessions, parents learn to:
Identify and interrupt escalation patterns
Install neutral communication formats
Reduce hostile exchanges
Implement parallel parenting structure when needed
Decrease child exposure to conflict
Create relapse-prevention strategies
A child session may be included to assess emotional impact and reduce triangulation (not for custody evaluation).
Section 4: Program Structure
Session 1–2: Individual parent intake and safety screening
Session 3–5: Conflict mapping, regulation, communication structure
Session 6: Child session (if clinically appropriate)
Session 7–8: Parallel parenting and containment strategies
Session 9–10: Relapse prevention and consolidation
Sessions are typically 50 minutes.
Please Note:
This program is delivered with strict neutrality.
We do not:
Provide custody recommendations
Offer parenting capacity opinions
Write court reports
Advocate for either parent
SCCR is intervention-focused, not evaluative.
Important Information
Couples who enroll in the Structured Co-Parent Conflict Resolution (SCCR) program commit to the full 10-session sequence. The program is designed as a progressive intervention, with each session building on the previous one. Participation in all sessions is required to achieve meaningful and measurable change.
SCCR is delivered and invoiced as Psychological Services for insurance purposes. The total program fee is $3,000, based on a rate of $300 per 60-minute session. We can direct bill many insurance companies. Email clientcare@calgarypsychservices.com for additional information.
At intake, both participants complete a standardized conflict assessment to establish baseline levels of co-parenting distress and interaction patterns. The same measure is administered at program completion to evaluate changes in conflict intensity, communication quality, and emotional regulation. This structured pre- and post-assessment process allows for objective tracking of progress over the course of treatment.
How Do I Apply For SCCR?
Program Availability
Structured Co-Parent Conflict Reduction (SCCR) is provided exclusively by Sheri Kalke, R. Psych.
Due to the advanced training required in high-conflict family dynamics, coercive control screening, structured conflict containment, and court-adjacent practice boundaries, this program is not offered by other clinicians within the practice.
SCCR is a specialized, structured intervention and requires experience beyond general family therapy training.
Limited spaces available.
